Getaway weekend for the girls! Our school had organised a camp out of Paris at Royan.
Chalet? Checked. Sports & games? Checked. Open bar? Checked. Sand & water? Checked.

Weekend leftovers = Xuelin and I.

In the morning, we brought the Mexican girls to the flea market that Thibault had brought us 2 weeks ago. Xuelin and I went to Saint Michel for lunch. Yum! It’s my first time tasting French food in a month upon arrival.

After a fulfilling lunch, we visited the tourism office in Pyramides to check out the places where we could visit as well as find decent accommodation for Winter 2006. We passed by some beautiful places as we strolled from Saint Michel to Saint Germain des Pres to Pyramides.

Learnt that the flea market is actually one of the best, if not the best, in Paris. That explains the frequent flock of crowds.

We headed back in the rain and bought baguette for dinner. Xuelin bought dessert thinking that it should taste nice. Hell no, tasted really bad!

Lesson learnt for the day: Looks and taste don’t come together.

Happy birthday Mama! Aww, sad that I can’t be there to give her a BIG birthday hug!
Oh well, had a very peaceful Sunday! Went to Macdonalds at Etoile myself as Xuelin went to church. Bren psychoed me into downloading Skype (www.skype.com) but there’s no one to talk to. Ended up making Hua download it too and we tried the programme out by talking to each other through our mics.

I am trying to upload the photos that my friends and I have taken over the weeks but the file size must be too big cos it's taking a very long time to upload. I would try to do it when I have enough time.

Whoo, it's cold today! I could blow "smoke" out of my mouth today. But it can get pretty distracting when you are walking. The smoke keeps fogging my vision. Haha!

Alrighty, till next time, peace.

Opps. It has been 2 weeks in Paris and I have only started blogging now. I have been hearing my bro saying, "Keep a blog! Keep a blog!"

So here I am, blogging away in the school lab.

Let me just give you a quick update. I arrived in Paris on the 20th of Sept at around noon. It was already freezing cold at that time. But I guess I'm getting used to being cold all the time but for now, the temperature will usually range from 9 deg to 15 deg, and that, I'm still not used to it. Even the chair I'm sitting on right now is kind of cold. And I'm not talking about the air in the school building. It's cold today, even in indoors. Brrrrrr!

I've not fully settled down in the hostel yet. But my friends and I have figured out some crucial stuff such as, knowing where to go to see the doctor, supermarket, market, cheap clothes, metro and restaurants.

Attended lessons the day after arrival and the teachers were concerned whether we had jetlag or not. Strangely, I was the only one among my friends who didn't have jetlag.

Guess what, WiFi is not common at all here in Paris, or where I am staying at least. I have to travel MacDonalds to access the wireless connection there.

Alright, back to present time. I had Marketing Concepts and Operational Plans today. It was quite a boring lesson because the teacher spent an hour revising the previous lesson. Anyway, it should be good. Had my first group work with the other students which turned out to be fun. There were so many opinions! Haha!

Had to meet the director of the school with the other international students to take group pictures and talk for while.

Went to French lesson after that. In case you don't know, my French class only has 5 students! They said that it's easier for us and the teacher by not combining us with other students as different students have different levels of French.

French classes are always fun and relaxing! Today, the teacher sang us a French song about Champs Elysees. It is a very popular song. In case you're wondering, Champs Elysees is a place where all the rich people are.

I have to go get a letter written now. I'll blog more when I have the time.
